I'm here!!!

Hello!!

Well, it is 3:00pm on Saturday afternoon here in Berlin and I am pretty excited about the next 3 months! I think this is going to be an amazing summer :)

I departed from the airport in Toronto yesterday at 5:30pm and flew into Frankfurt. I was pretty excited to realize that Air Canada has personal OnDemand Television now! There was a huge selection of movies, television and music to choose from. It was fantastical. There were children sitting next to me who were not exactly interested in sleeping therefore I didn't sleep much either. However, I'm not complaining because they were adorable and very entertaining. I arrived in Frankfurt 7.5 hours later (1am Guelph time and 7am Frankfurt time) and then had 3.5 hours to hang out while waiting for my connecting flight to Berlin. I departed from Frankfurt at 10:15am and arrived in Berlin by just after 11. Waiting at the airport for me were Anemone, Artemisia and Miranda. The girls were soooo cute and very excited to see me. It was great to see them too! The transit system in Berlin is amazing and we were back at our apartment in 20 minutes!

I wanted to stay awake as long as I could so I could try and get over the jet lag as quickly as possible so after a quick bite to eat the 4 of us set off for a little sightseeing at Alexanderplatz. We rode the double decker bus by the Reichstag and Brandenburg gate and then met up with Yianni for some dinner. We, of course, had sausages and beer for dinner whilst watching a match of the Euro Cup in an outdoor beer garden in Alexanderplatz.

I had the sleep of my life last night. My head hit the pillow by 8pm and I slept in until 11:30am!! However, today I am feeling great and, so far, no sign of any jet lag! Most of today has been spent in the apartment unpacking and organizing my stuff however, I think we are going to out and explore a bit this afternoon. The girls really want to check out some new parks...there are parks EVERYWHERE!

The girls and I made a video of the apartment today and I will do my best to upload it later today so you can see where we will be living. It is an amazing apartment. 12 foot ceilings, wood floors and white walls. I love it! It is one of the only old buildings left in the city. It's amazing how such an old city has such a new feeling. It was completely leveled during the war so most of the buildings are new. I will try and upload pictures to show you what I mean.

I miss you all already and am looking forward to hearing all about your summer as well!

Lots of Love,
Jenn(ifer)
